Handmade Gifts For Everybody

• Teens

Teens are a little more difficult to buy gifts, they would expect something that would match their lifestyle.  This can be a little difficult if you are a parent buying something for your rebellious teen-ager.

Some great handmade gift ideas or handmade accessories  would be cell phone jewelry, key chains,  designed hairbrushes or laptop cases.  Teenager gifts can sometimes be confusing and difficult to think of, but there are variety of choices online and in local stores.

It's Susan back today-------sorry about yesterday, but my Dad had a fall and life got a bit hectic

A bit more about the various types of hand made gifts

 Homemade bath oils and perfumes.

These also make the ideal handmade gift if you are into mixing fragrances. To save some money, try buying a large amount of perfume ingredients and create special fragrances, perfume or bath oil for your recipients. You can also purchase individual mini-bottles to put these pampering products in. Hi

Susan here------hope you are having a great Tuesday

The Perfect Handmade Gifts

Although a certain event is synonymous to “gift-giving,” it doesn’t mean that is has to be an “expensive gift-giving”. For those who are tight on budget but would want to share something to the special people around them, there are many inexpensive but great handmade gifts that would definitely put a smile on your recipient’s lips.

Maximize your creativity

Indeed, the any special season—a birthday, Christmas, Valentine's, anniversary celebration, etc.—rekindles love, resurgence, and hope of people regardless of age, gender, or race. Aside from sharing love to the ones around you, these special events are also the perfect time to be creative and be resourceful.

Since you are on a tight budget, visiting stores on sale or bazaars can definitely help you find inexpensive gifts to give out. You can also create homemade and handmade gifts using inexpensive materials. Here’s a short list of classy yet inexpensive gift items you can give out in any special occasion:

1. Personalized items. These are probably the most popular inexpensive handmade gifts of all times. Personalizing something like a recipe book for those who love cooking, a sketchpad for those who love drawing and sketching, a scrapbook for those who are fond of collecting and immortalizing memories, a notepad or journal for those who are inclined to writing, a photo album for those who love to keep photos, and the list goes on. Personalized items are inexpensive Christmas gifts because all you have to do is look for materials you can recycle. After recycling these items, you can add personal touches to it and give it away as a nice present.

When to Make a Handmade Gift

Sorry about the last couple of days, but it's been...........oh you know what I mean

Lets talk about WHEN to give a handmade gift-----this is important

See the full range by clicking the link below

Join us on Facebook and be amongst the best

When to Make a Handmade Gift

Although it is considered logical and practical now to give handmade gifts, there are instances when it is not something that you should be doing. There are instances when it is allowed and there are times when it is considered in bad taste. Here are some of the rules when it comes to making handmade gifts.

1. Make sure that you know the person
Although most people right now are already having money problems, it does not mean that you can just give anything you want and expect them not to talk. Before you give a handmade gift, make sure that they are appropriate for the person that you are giving it to and it is something that they will appreciate. For instance, handmade gifts are often given to people that you know personally. They will be able to appreciate the effort more and handmade gifts are actually considered very personal. This is especially true with gifts that require some effort like a poem or a song. A card is also considered very personal.

2. Make sure that they can appreciate handmade gifts
Face it, not everybody will understand your gift as it is. If they are the kind of person who will scoff at  giving them handmade gifts , this becomes a no-no because you will risk being laughed at. This is especially true with people who have always enjoyed the good life and therefore are used to getting expensive presents. Of course, this is not the same for all people but the lesson here is to choose who you give the handmade gift to.

3. Make sure that they are well-made
There is such a thing as a handmade gift and one that is haphazardly made. If you are making a handmade gift, the least that you can do is make it presentable. If for instance you are making a bracelet, make sure that the knots are cleanly done and the strings are not evident. When giving a card, make sure that everything is clean. There are no dirt. The cuts are straight and not crooked. There are no excess fabrics or threads. There are no paste marks where dirt and dust can adhere to.

4. Give it appropriately
Make sure that the occasion is appropriate and the person you are giving it to is the right one to give the handmade gift to. For instance, making a silk flower out of silk ribbons may be a good gift and fairly easy to do but if you are giving it to a man, umm… that’s a little bit, ok a lot, inappropriate. It is also considered tacky to give handmade gifts to strangers and to people that have a higher position than you. For these people, it is better to just buy one even if they are a bit cheap.

5. Crafts is not the only one you can give

There are a lot of handmade gifts that you can make and give to people. Do not get stuck with just craft and art projects. You can for instance, bake a cake or maybe a brownie. You can also crochet some kind of table runner. These gifts are less personal and therefore more appropriate to people you are not really that close to.

Ok folks

Hope you had a lovely weekend

Now comes today's thoughts:

How To Make Handmade Gifts

With how the recession is affecting everybody’s finances, it is considered in taste now to give handmade gifts. There is no longer talk of how cheap you can be when you do this. Now, people who make their own gifts are considered wise and practical especially in the face of such problems. Besides, you can’t just afford it.

Making handmade gifts may be easy for people who are already quite crafty and those that have been doing this for years, but how about with people who have no idea where to start. When you really think about it, it will be such a waste of time and money to even attempt to if you do not know what you are doing. It would actually be better if you just buy a cheap gift and just be done with it.

But if you are really decided to try your hand in handmade gifts and learn the craft, here are some ideas for gifts that will make it easy for you to make. Here are some projects that you can try.

1. Card
This is perhaps the easiest project there is. Anybody can create a card. Even kindergarten kids have done cards in classes and gave them to their parents and friends. What is great about cards is the fact that it can be so simple on the outside and yet be so meaningful. In fact, you don’t even have to draw anything on the card. You can paste something that is memorable to both you and the person you are giving the card to. If it is for a special someone, you can perhaps paste the ticket of the movie that you first watched together or the receipt from your first date. You can also cut pictures from the magazine and then paste it on the card. There are a lot of ways that you can make one without really having to actually make it.

2. Poem
If you are a writer, put your skills to good use. Nothing is as romantic as a poem about a person. Compose a poem and write it down or type it on a sheet of paper. The person you are giving it to will surely appreciate the gesture. After all, not everybody can write and if for you it is something simple, for that person, it’s amazing!

3. Song
If you are a writer and a musician, another way to make a handmade gift is to make a song for the person that you want to give a gift to. You can for instance compose a song that will say what you want to say to them. It does not even have to be a whole song. You can make a jingle or a short verse and put an accompaniment to it. Even something as straightforward as the things that you want to say can become a song with the right lyrics and arrangement.

4. Jewelry

It may seem complicated at first but who says you need to make intricate designs when making handmade gifts? In making jewelry, you can stick to basic designs like for instance with bracelets. All you really need to do is buy some materials like beads and sequins and stones and some elastic. You can then sew them in and then tie a knot at the end.

I have an ebook on jewelry making secrets-----let me know if you would like one

Reasons For Giving Handmade Gifts

Hi

Sue here again talking about hand made items

I'll just show you a card or two I have made and then pass on my words of wisdom

Ok, here we go:

Reasons For Giving Handmade Gifts

Handmade gifts may seem tacky when you think about it but they are pretty acceptable especially during these times when the recession is wreaking havoc in our finances. If you still need convincing, here are some of the reasons why you should give handmade gifts.

1. It’s the trend
Believe it or not but it is all the rage right now to give handmade gifts. Blame it to the recession but people are finding that giving handmade gifts is charming, practical and sweet. People now realize that you can give quality gifts without really spending a lot and besides when you look at the thought and the effort of the person to make the gift, it is actually more expensive than anything that they can buy from the store.

2. It’s more thoughtful
When you give a handmade gift, you really put much thought into it as opposed to just going to the store and buying the first thing that you set your eyes into. When making handmade gifts, you will find that people will appreciate more the effort that you have put into making the gift. It is actually considered more special and sweeter to give handmade gifts because they are more well thought of and as people say, it comes from the heart.

3. It’s personalized
Whenever you give a handmade gift, it is perceived to be more personalized. That means that a lot of yourself is put into making the gift. After all, you have not only sweated out in making the gift, you have also dedicated time into it as well as some of your creative juices. This is why it is important to make sure that you only give these kinds of gifts to people you are close to because people might perceive it the wrong way.

4. It’s environment friendly
If you care for the environment and you are part of what is called right now as the green team then making your own handmade gifts will allow you to make something out of trash like used papers and bottles. You can actually recycle them yourself and give them as gifts. Who knows, you might even end up selling them to other people? That will certainly help you in the recession.

5. It’s therapeutic
For some people, working with their hands in art and craft projects is relaxing. Art is actually considered as an effective therapy for people who are depressed or anxious as it allows you to express your feelings without words. You can use this to relax yourself and calm your nerves and at the same time make a handmade gift for someone special. You are basically killing two birds with one stone with this one.

Isnt it hot today?

Kind regards

Susan
