Julie Goodyear played glamorous Rovers Return landlady Bet Lynch
Coronation Street's Julie Goodyear wants to return to the show for the funeral of much-loved character Betty Williams.
Julie was among the many Corrie stars who attended soap legend Betty Driver's funeral in Manchester at the weekend.
Julie played glamorous Rovers Return landlady Bet Lynch for 25 years, and The Sun reports she wants to be part of the tribute the soap pays to barmaid Betty Williams, due to air in the new year.
A source said: "Julie worked with Betty for 25 years and wants to be part of her exit.
"She's not coming back permanently but she's up for doing an episode.
"Nothing is set in stone yet - but a funeral with stars past and present would be really fitting. She deserves a tribute episode and everyone wants to honour her memory and her work."
Julie, 69, paid tribute to actress Betty last week saying: "She was a true icon and legend and a dear friend. We laughed together, we cried together. We never once had a cross word."
Betty Driver starred in Corrie for 42 years.

Beckham's future is the subject of conjecture as he nears the end of his current contract at LA Galaxy, amid rumours of interest from several clubs, including PSG and QPR, and he has indicated his keenness to one day return to Old Trafford.
When asked about the possibility of following former Real team-mate Zidane's lead, Beckham, who left United for Real in 2003, said in the Sun: "I'd love to do that.
"The best memory of my career came in 1999, no doubt, when Manchester United won the treble. In my opinion, no club can repeat that feat."

As soon as I saw photos of the aftermath of Elvis’s death, alarm bells went off in my head.
There was a picture of a woman, who was close to Elvis, standing in the doorway at Graceland in the middle of the night, just hours after his death. She looked immaculate, her make-up perfect.
What was wrong with this? Well, if the love of my life had just been found dead, I would have looked like the Witch of Endor, mascara streaming down my face.
Mob connection? Elvis Presley had been part of one of the largest FBI investigations of the Seventies, codenamed Fountain Pen
Elvis, who was very religious, loved my stories about my English convent school. The first time he took my hand was on set. We only kissed twice but there was the promise of many more intimacies to come. We remained friends throughout my passionate affair with Richard Harris, and wanted to make another movie together — but it was never to be.
Colonel Tom Parker never liked our friendship, mainly because I was introducing him to actors like Richard Harris. Elvis wanted to be a real actor, but Colonel Parker only looked for easy money.
